Ram Charan is a writer, business consultant and speaker, he was born in India, in a small city called Uttar Pradesh in 1939.

His first job was in the family shoe shop in his home town. He had his engineering degree in India after what he went to work first to Australian and after to Hawaii. When his business talent was discovered, he earned a MBA and a doctorate en Harvard Business School and where he served after finished his doctorate.

He has worked with some of the world’s most important companies like KLM or Bank of America giving providing advices. Last years he also wrote numerous books an article with his business insights, he sold more than 2 millions copies and have a best seller called Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done and Confronting Reality.

The CEO of Dupont reacted ti the current economic crisis by reducing costs and trying to conserv cash.

A Corporate Crisis plan was invoked, it had been created after the 9/11 attacks, it brougth together the 17 standing teams and they decided the crise wans only financial and they start to do an ensure DuPont’s viability.

The next days were spend informing employees about the situation, giving them avices for there retirement found, and identifying what can each one do to reduce cost or conserve cash.

A new meeting with the company’s top 14 leaders, one by one, after what they have a long list, but all of them were too slow for the speed of the crisis.

While 3 important person of the company were thinking about long term actions, 20,000 outside contractors were hired to save cash and reduce cost. DuPont’s first reaction werte done in less than 6 weeks, but there is a lot to do depending on the global economy fares on the futur.
