The article “Losing face” is about how many companies have been exploiting some social networks on their favor as marketing tools and how these marketing tools can turn into a source of damaging publicity. In this article they talk about “British Airways” and “Virgin Atlantic”.
The text explains the problems they had with these social networks, firstly, Virgin fired 13 people which used facebook to post derogatory comments about planes security and costumers. So finally Virgin created some channels for their workers where they can make any comments.
British airways also had some employees that were investigated because of the same reasons. Nowadays, new employees have to sign a policy.
The article concludes that managers need to monitor online activity closely to avoid all the problems that social networks can create.
