People, in this case the crew of some companies, are using social networks such us Facebook or Myspace to damage publicity.
This had happened to British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
On october 31 st Virgin fired 13 of its cabin crew who had posted derogatory comments about its safety standarts and some of its passenguers on a Facebook forum.
On November 3 rd British Airways began investigating the behaviour of several employees who had described some passenguers as “smelly” and “annoying” in Facebook postings.
I don´t know why employees moan on Facebook, but I know that they had signed a policy that forbids them from posting information about the firm online without specific authorisation. So managers should supervise this to ensure that rules are respected and to protect the company of bad influences.
