Nowadays some companies are not living their best moment due to the fact that the economic crisis is affecting a lot their activity and making it more dificult. That is the main reason why companies need now more than ever to promote their products and brands. There are several ways to achieve the objective of promoting products like for example: tell the target what kind of support they'll get after they buy, think of ways to get the site or business in the the news, allow your visitors or customers to increase your traffic or sales…

The first way would consist on making customers percieve that they are getting an "extra" service after buying the product so they will feel happier to buy it and also this will increase the market share of the company because while customers do not buy the competitor´s product they are buying our company´s products. This may also answer some of their buying questions ahead of time. People don't want to buy products without knowing you will be there to help if they have problems. I dare say that there is one disadvantage because some companies can not afford to offer a post-selling servive or financial facilities.

As I see it the second way to promote a product in a company is to make it appear on the news, or on TV, or on a magazine. It is not dificult to do it, the only thing that must be done is to sponsor for example a tennis match, a music concert or hold a major event related in any way to the product.Simply write a press release about what you've accomplished, then send it to media outlets that cater to your target audience. This way of promoting is cheap and it is very usefull actually because the marketing budget of some companies has been reduced due to the crisis.

Finally I would like to consider that asking our customers directly how can our company can improve is a great idea and you can do it asking them at the Web site, in your e-zine, on your message board, in your chat room, in your guest book, in your product packages…This will permit the company know exacly what are the strong and the weak points, and also the opportunies and threats of the market, which are very important for the growth and the knowledge f the company. On the other hand I need to mention as a disadvantage that this kind of investigation requires a huge investement, and sometimes companies invest large amounts os money but they don´t have it back.
