Social Networks such as Facebook or Myspace can be a source of damaging publicity.
On October 31st Virgin Atlantic have some problems with some derogatory comments about the safety and some passengers with words like "Chavs", "Smelly" or "Annoying" that she post in Facebook.
Companies don't know if them employees have an acceptable use of internet and they forbin them from posting information about the firm online without specific authorisation.
One of consequences is that managers need to monitor online activity closely to ensure that rules are respected.
Phil Gomes of Edelman urges companies to frequent what he calls "online watering holes", where people exchange gossip and views.
